Mio's Moment

I noticed the thinly hidden concern on my mother's face as I began my final practice for my first tea ceremony. A short wave of uncertainty washed over me as I considered the possibility of disappointing my mother and guests. My mother's words began to crowd my thoughts and replay over in my mind like a repeated song as she would always say, "Mio, always remember the chawa and each tool must be handled with exquisite care as it is not just a tea bowl, it has been in our family for generations and is the most vital part of the ceremony.
