Do you think Napoleon did more good or bad for France? Why?

Answers

Answer: I think Napoleon did bad for France because he started the deadly Napoleonic Wars. He went to other countries (e.g. Prussia, Austria) to invade his own country. Then, he wanted to invade Russia, but it was too cold and his troops died. He could not even take proper care of them.

Overall, I think Napoleon did bad for France.

Answer:

Checks and Balances- This idea is implemented in the Constitution to ensure that no one branch of the federal government gains too much power. For example, the legislative branch (Congress) can approve a bill that will then be sent to the executive branch (President). If the president does not like the bill or thinks that it violates the rights of citizens, he/she can veto the bill. Vetoing the bill stops the bill from becoming a law. This check on power ensures that Congress makes laws that do not violate the rights of citizens.

Anti-Federalists do not want to ratify the Constitution unless it includes a Bill of Rights. The Anti-Federalists are worried that the Constitution gives too much power to the federal government. Having a strong central government caused problems when the US was still part of Great Britain. This is why the Anti-federalists are fearful of this type of system.

The Federalists they supported the Constitution, and attempted to convince the States to ratify the document. Both Hamilton and Madison argued that the Constitution didn't need a Bill of Rights, that it would create a "parchment barrier" that limited the rights of the people, as opposed to protecting them.

Anti-Federalism was a late-18th century movement that opposed the creation of a stronger U.S. federal government and which later opposed the ratification of the 1787 Constitution. The previous constitution, called the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, gave state governments more authority.

Separation of powers is a doctrine of constitutional law under which the three branches of government (executive, legislative, and judicial) are kept separate. This is also known as the system of checks and balances, because each branch is given certain powers so as to check and balance the other branches. The Federalist Papers is a collection of 85 articles and essays written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay under the pseudonym "Publius" to promote the ratification of the United States Constitution.Anti-Federalism was a late-18th century movement that opposed the creation of a stronger U.S. federal government and which later opposed the ratification of the 1787 Constitution.

Read the following passage.

"Hey," Donald called out. "Have you noticed this place is a catastrophe?"
Kevin surveyed the house--plates stacked in the sink, coffee stains on the kitchen floor and laundry strewn about. It was all the debris of a week without parents.
"When does Dad come back again?" They both looked at the clock. Two hours.
Kevin scavenged for bleach, and Donald clambered for soap. Scrubbing, disinfecting, folding and spritzing, they sweated their way through a fast-paced cleaning regime that would have impressed the most thorough of housekeepers. An hour and fifty minutes later, they heard the key turn in the lock. Their dad came through the door. The whole house had been cleaned. But Donald and Kevin had both collapsed in puddles of exhaustion on the couch.

Which of the following revisions to the underlined sentence is in the active voice?

A
Bleach and soap had been used to clean the whole house.

B
The whole house had been cleaned by Kevin and Donald.

C
Donald and Kevin had cleaned the whole house.

D

The queen and king searched far and wide for a real princess, but the prince always found something wrong with the princesses they found. One evening, there was a terrible storm. The wind howled, thunder shook the stone walls, and lightning filled the dark night sky. Through the pelting of the rain, there came a knock at the door. When the king opened the door, he saw a bedraggled girl, soaked to the skin and covered in mud. He ushered her into the castle so that she could warm herself by the fire."Why is a young servant girl like you wandering about on such a ferocious night?" queried the king. The disheveled maiden looked at the king in disbelief. "I am a princess, come to see the prince," she explained, all the while shivering. The king summoned his wife, the queen, for advice. The queen looked at the hideous creature in disbelief, thinking that no princess would ever allow herself to be found in such a state. She thought quickly and came up with a clever plan. The queen put a small pea at the bottom of a bed and piled twenty mattresses on top of it. When the girl arrived at the room, she had to climb a ladder to reach the top of the bed, where she collapsed in exhaustion.Bright and early the next morning, the king and queen arrived at the girl's bedchamber. The queen asked the girl how she had slept the night before."Absolutely terribly!" bemoaned the maiden. "I have spent the entire night tossing and turning. I don't know whether there is something hard in the bed, or your mattresses are rocks, but my body is black and blue."The queen and the king stared at the maiden in astonishment.
