Treacherous Rains

Seth and Jacob are recent College graduates who set a plan to go on a 2-3 month hiking trip together in Tennessee, their first real trip as a couple, on the Appalachian Mtn. They were going on a walk at a rest area along the trail, to see if it was a good spot to hunker down for the night, they had to drive hours to get to the trail head and only made it a couple hours inward, but found a place to set up camp.

As they walked, Seth found a way to wonder off the marked trail probably following a butterfly or getting fire wood, and the long-time camper Jacob went off to find him. as he went off trail he saw that some of the leaves and sticks were broke and smashed down, so he followed the recent made trail, thinking it was Seth and he got to a lump on the ground thinking it was him.... he was wrong Seth was hovering frozen in thought of fear, over the body laying on the ground with a trail of blood behind the victim. Jacob looked at his face and realized who he was... he was his ex, Kyler Hemming, 1 year younger than himself.

He had a flashback of a few years ago. The second year of Med training, Kyler was his study group partner and hung out a lot at his dorm, a few short weeks later Kyler had confessed his feelings and Jacob was about to when Kyler spoke up. They dated for about 3 years, and it was Jacobs last year in training, they got into a argument about where to live when Jacob graduated with out his beloved with him. It had gotten so stressful and harming that they decided it was better to move on without each other.

¨Hey who knows that out of all places in the world I run into my once loved ex laying in the woods with the backpack that I once gave him¨

As he came back to reality, he had noticed that Seth had been crying, and his eyes were puffy and red, as he looked up, Seth began to speak. ¨ I know this  guy, his name is Kyler Hemming if I remember correctly, he went to my middle and high school, he was super popular, but I knew a secret that no-one else knew, I knew that he fell in love with guys.¨

As he finished up his short-lived story, they both heard the distant clash of thunder against the strong gusts of wind, and saw the dark and hazy clouds rolling in, with no service, and the sunset fading in the distance looks to be as if they are trapped with a dead body on a mountain.

With the storm rolling in fast, The hikers weighed their options. Seth: ¨ where should we go? Back to camp. wherever that is, or stay here with whatever Kyler had at his campsite?¨ Jacob ¨ We should stay here since Camp is wherever in the woods that is and we have to stay with him, we cant just leave him.¨ Seth detected sadness in his voice not knowing why.

Well after a big discussion they went to try to find camp and came across the creek that was ankle deep on the way there is now a raging river that  seemed to be above their heads. They turned around and was forced to stay at the seemed to be a recently abandoned campsite, assuming it was Kylers´.

On the way back from the creek hunt, they found out the hard way that rock can get slick real fast when wet, they finally got back to the makeshift camp and heard a low groan from where the body was left. They grew conscious with their surroundings when they heard the groan again.  They checked where the body was supposed to be and there was nothing there except for smeared blood on leaves they looked around and found the still handsome Kyler, sitting against the rock beside of the what was the fire. Groaning from what looked like long slices from a rugged edge. Jacob was the first to spot Kyler  through the rain and he nearly jumped out of his skin and Seth just about had a heart-attack

The storm cleared in the early morning and they had to leave as soon as possible, to find Tyler the help he needed, as they gathered the food, they heard distant yelling from what seemed to be the on duty park ranger, to check if everyone is ok and well. They started to yell and Park Rangers arrived, now with some extra sets of hands the climb back down was easier then expected, and Kyler got the help that he needed.

for my sake.....can you Please Title and make the people your own names...thank you and would be appreciated <3

Publically order Gates, Fauci, and all other traitors complicit in this Rothschild NWO public conditioning project to public hanging.

There is without a doubt in any thinking man's mind, that what's happening is a multi-purpose project in order to inflict damage on our society. I mean, come on, they can't even hold up the narrative that it originated in a Wuhan food plant, or that it even isn't man-made or just a natural occurrence. Personal example, both of my 80 year old grandmothers, one of which smoked for decades, got over their illness that took their taste and smell in a week! Same goes for myself, less than a week! The economic damage, baseless tyrannical measures, supply chain issues, increased self harm rate, and social polarization and havoc this pandemic has caused clearly isn't worth a "pandemic" with a fatality rate under 1% just like any other illness such as the flu.

The solution to this communist plan is to completely take up arms to take back and restore our now corrupt political systems and take power away from the Talmudic Edomite Jews who have been infiltrating our governments for all of history, even as the Pharisees did in biblical times, and we'd make sure not to allow their return or make them equal again. No, in all seriousness, there will be probably worse done.

Tell whether the underlined verb is finite or non- finite.
I play hockey

Answers

Answer:

Finite verb.

Explanation:

A finite verb is a verb that specifies the tense or form of the verb whereas a non-finite verb is a verb that does not specify the tense of the verb. In other words, finite verbs change their form according to the number of persons or subjects whereas non-finite verbs do not.

In the given sentence, the subject is "I", and the verb "play". The verb shows the tense "play" and also contains a subject, with a single verb. This is a case of a finite verb.

A large number of voters still_______ along straight party lines.
O votes
O vote

Answers

Answer:

vote

Explanation:

The tense of the sentence is present simple, as the action is happening on the regular basis. This means the verb stays the same in all forms, except in the third person singular. When the subject is the third singular person, we add ‘s’ or ‘es’ to the root of the verb. Here, it presents the option “votes”

However, in the sentence, the subject “voters” is in the plural third person. This means we don’t add anything to the verb and that it stays only in its root form – “vote”.

The logical fallacies that contained in the excerpt is Ad hominem. The correct option is A.

What is "Every Man a King"?

Huey Pierce Long, Jr., the governor of Louisiana and a senator from the United States is referenced in the song "Every Man a King." The catchphrase of Long's Share Our Wealth plan during the Great Depression and the title of his 1933 memoirs both use the phrase "Every man a king," which became his most famous political catchphrase.

The speech itself is unremarkable by Huey Long standards, but some rather radical opinions are presented. This extreme idea would limit the amount of money that any one person is allowed to possess and utilize the surplus cash to support programs for the disadvantaged.

While the poor struggle and children go without food, the wealthy are maintaining the majority of the nation's wealth.

Therefore, the correct option is A. Ad hominem.

Of the following, which names the most important figure of speech used in the quote?

Answers

Answer:

Metaphor

Explanation:

You haven't provided the options you were given and I can't find them online, but I can answer your question anyway.

The figure of speech used in the given quote from Emerson's Nature is a metaphor. Just like the simile, the metaphor is a figure of speech used to compare two unrelated things that share some qualities. The difference between these two figures is that simile represents a more direct comparison. It uses the words as and like, while the metaphor doesn't. It states that something is something else.

What Emerson wants to say is that in good health, the air is like a delicious and healthy drink.

Excerpt from W. E. B. Du Bois
Jon Reese
4 Du Bois was one of the first male civil rights leaders to recognize the problems of gender discrimination. He was among the
first men to understand the unique problems of black women, and to value their contributions. He supported the women's
suffrage movement and strove to integrate this mostly white struggle. He encouraged many black female writers, artists, poets,
and novelists, featuring their works in Crisis and sometimes providing personal financial assistance to them. Several of his
novels feature women as prominently as men, an unusual approach for any author of his day. Du Bois spent his life working not
just for the equality of all men, but for the equality of all people.
In light of paragraph 4, what can be inferred about the common perception of women during the late 1800's and early 1900's?
A)
Women were integral to the fight to free the slaves.
B)
Women were valued for their roles as mothers and wives.
Women were chosen as leaders because of their superior skills.
D)

At the beginning of Act 2, John Proctor says to Elizabeth: "It's winter in here
yet. On Sunday let you come with me, and we'll walk the farm together."
What is Miller implying about their relationship through this quote?
O John has decided to leave Elizabeth.
John thinks Elizabeth should be helping more at home.
O There is tension between the two of them.
They have never been close.

Answers

Answer:

There is tension between the two of them.

Explanation:

The given question refers to The Crucible, a play written by Arthur Miller. In this play, Miller dramatized and fictionalized the story of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692 and 1693.

John Proctor and Elizabeth are a married couple. Their relationship is filled with tension because John had an affair with Abigail, their ex-servant. This deeply hurt Elizabeth, who no longer completely trusts John. However, they still respect each other and try to protect each other's reputations.

John's quote It's winter in here yet refers to the coldness Elizabeth treats him with. Their relationship has become cold and strained. This is why it's obvious that there is tension between them.

This is why the third option is the correct one.

Without mortar, which connects bricks into strong walls that support roofs, the building would tumble down. Similarly, without coherence, which binds sentences into clear paragraphs that support the main idea, an essay would also fall apart.

Before we move on, three pieces of background information will be helpful to know.

Although sentences are the building blocks of paragraphs, paragraphs are the fundamental units of essays. Each paragraph must have unity—strictly adhering to the idea mentioned in the topic sentence—and coherence.

You will learn how to edit sentences so they move seamlessly from one to another within a paragraph; however, you can use the same methods to ensure that paragraphs move seamlessly from one to another in an entire essay.

It is much easier to catch coherence problems in other people’s writing than it is to find these problems in your own papers.
