Joe has $6.40 in nickels and quarters. He has two more nickels than quarters. How many quarters does Joe have?

Answers

Answer:

Quaters - Q=12

Dimes - D=10

Nickels - N= 48

Step-by-step explanation:

First, notice that $6.40 = 640 cents. The corresponding linear equation and a solution is shown below in several steps:

Original equation for amount of Dimes (D):

10*D  + 25*(D+2) +5*4*(D+2) = 640

Simplified as following, resulting in the answer for D:

55*D=550

D=10

thus having the amount of Quarters:

Q=12

and correspondingly, amount of Nickels:

N= 48

Answer:

Quarters = 12

And correspondingly, amount of Nickels:

Nickels = 48

3. Suppose a serial number must consist of four different digits, followed by two
different letters. How many different serial numbers are possible?

Answers

Answer: 6,760,000 different possible serial numbers.

Step-by-step explanation: There are 10 digits numbered 0 to 9. There are also 26 letters in the alphabet. Using this, we can do 10*10*10*10*26*26 as there are four digits needed and two letters. This computes to approximately 6,760,000 different possible serial numbers, assuming no other factors are involved.

Find the sum of the first 45 terms of the following series, to the nearest integer. 2,11, 20, ...

Answers

Answer:

[tex]S_{45}[/tex] = 9000

Step-by-step explanation:

there is a common difference between consecutive terms , that is

11 - 2 = 20 - 11 = 9

this indicates the sequence is arithmetic with nth term

[tex]S_{n}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{n}{2}[/tex] [ 2a₁ + (n - 1)d ]

where a₁ is the first term and d the common difference

here a₁ = 2 and d = 9 , then

[tex]S_{45}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{45}{2}[/tex] [ (2 × 2) + (44 × 9) ]

    = 22.5(4 + 396)

    = 22.5 × 400

Jack is 4 times as old as Lacy. 9 years from now the sum of their ages will be 63. How old are they now?
Jack is
years old while Lacy is
years old.

Answers

Answer:

jack is 54 and lacey is 13.5. I think

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Jack be J and Lacy be L.

First equation:   J=4L

Second equation:    (J+9)+(L+9)=63

Solving using substitution:

4L+9+L+9=63

5L+18=63

5L= 45

L = 9

L=9 and J=4L  = 4*9 = 36

So Jack is 36 years old and Lacy is 9 years old.

A triangle has an angle that measures 10°. The other two angles are in a ratio of 3:14. What
are the measures of those two angles?

Answers

Step-by-step explanation:

Need to FinD :

We have to find the measures of other two angles of triangle.

[tex] \red{\frak{Given}} \begin{cases} & \sf{The\ measure\ of\ one\ angle\ of\ traingle\ is\ {\pmb{\sf{10^{\circ}}}}.} \\ & \sf{The\ other\ two\ angles\ are\ in\ the\ ratio\ of\ {\pmb{\sf{3\ :\ 14}}}.} \end{cases}[/tex]

We know that,

The other two angles of triangle are in the ratio of 3 : 14. So, let us consider the other two angles of the triangle be 3x and 14x.

Angle sum property,

The angle sum property of triangle states that the sum of interior angles of triangle is 180°. By using this property, we'll find the other two angles of the triangle.

[tex]\rule{200}{3}[/tex]

[tex] \sf \dashrightarrow {10^{\circ}\ +\ 3x\ +\ 14x\ =\ 180^{\circ}} \\ \\ \\ \sf \dashrightarrow {10^{\circ}\ +\ 17x\ =\ 180^{\circ}} \\ \\ \\ \sf \dashrightarrow {17x\ =\ 180^{\circ}\ -\ 10^{\circ}} \\ \\ \\ \sf \dashrightarrow {17x\ =\ 170^{\circ}} \\ \\ \\ \sf \dashrightarrow {x\ =\ \dfrac{\cancel{170^{\circ}}}{\cancel{17}}} \\ \\ \\ \dashrightarrow {\underbrace{\boxed{\pink{\frak{x\ =\ 10^{\circ}.}}}}_{\sf \blue {\tiny{Value\ of\ x}}}} [/tex]

∴ Hence, the value of x is 10°. Now, let us find out the other two angles of the triangle.

[tex]\rule{200}{3}[/tex]

Second AnglE :

3x3 × 1030°

∴ Hence, the measure of the second angle of triangle is 30°. Now, let us find out the third angle of triangle.

[tex]\rule{200}{3}[/tex]

Third AnglE :

14x 14 × 10140°

∴ Hence, the measure of the third angle of the triangle is 140°.

find the zeros of x^4-10x^3+35x^2-50x+24=0

Answers

Photo is attached.

Sorry my writing is so messy, but basically I found all possible zeros by finding the factors of 24:

(Positive or negative) 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24

Then, using remainder theorem (when you plug potential zeros into the x values to see if the equation will equal zero) I found out that 1 made the equation equal zero, and therefore was a zero.

Then I used synthetic division to make the equation smaller (I also used 2 because I found out that it was a zero using remainder theorem, same as how I found out 1)

Once I divided it small enough to factor, I simply factored it to find the last 2 zeros

(I didn’t explain everything 100% bc I don’t know how much of this you have learned so if you want clarification on something let me know)

Answer:

x=1 or x=2 or x=3 or x=4

Step-by-step explanation:

x4−10x3+35x2−50x+24=0

Step 1: Factor left side of equation.

(x−1)(x−2)(x−3)(x−4)=0

Step 2: Set factors equal to 0.

x−1=0 or x−2=0 or x−3=0 or x−4=0

x=1 or x=2 or x=3 or x=4
