How are the powers of the legislative branch limited in a presidential government?
A. The President can reject a proposed law.
B. The legislative branch has fewer powers than the President.
C. The President makes and enacts the laws.
CD. The legislative branch cannot check presidential laws.
Answer:
A. The President can reject a proposed law.
Explanation:
The powers of our government derives from the Constitution, which has a strong and complex system called checks and balances, which was made to ensure that no branch of government overpowers the others and that the branches would keep each other in check.
The founding fathers wanted to prevent tyranny in the government, and so they thought if congress could make any law they wanted that it would be bad (to be vague) which is why bills that pass congress must go through the President, but if the President rejects the law than congress can convene to overrule this veto after considering reasoning which requires a 2/3 Supermajority.

How did northern and southern states compromise regarding the power of Congress over foreign trade and taxes?
A. Congress could tax goods coming into the country but not goods going out.
B. Congress could control all trade between states.
C. Congress could end the slave trade within 20 years.
D. Congress could tax goods going out of the country but not goods coming in.
Answer:
A. Congress could tax goods coming into the country but not goods going
Explanation:
The North-South Compromise of 1787, was a "Compromise Agreement" of sorts happening between delegates of the Northern States and the Southern States, the purpose of this compromise between the north and south, they had many goals,
Such being to end slavery, which, didn't work, taxation without representation and lastly the regulation of trade, the United States was still being formed at the time and so was the constitution, the British were still on there tails despite the United States being successfully declared independent.
Now, C. Is out of the question because 1. Slavery didn't end until about 100 or so years later, and 2. the question is regarding foreign trade and taxes`, which leaves us with A and B and D.
The idea that congress would control all trade "Between States" was, actually a legitimate idea at the time, the founding fathers were divided into thinking either if the federal government should have most of the power (Authoritarian),or as they called it, Federalism, and the other half thought about the dividing of powers and states (Anti-Federalism). Which is the current system we use, later congress eventually this power over trade, through the Commerce Clause of 1887, but not through the North-South Agreement of 1787, so we can X out B. (A and D are left)
We don't really need an explanation for D, since the power to tax external trade also came from the Commerce Clause of 1887, but It was fiercely debated that Congress would have power to tax goods coming in and out, eventually, that clause of the North-South Compromise was "Edited"

What is the purpose of government? What types of things should a government do for its
people? (List 5 things)
So basically, I have to ask a question and it’s very important.
When I was in second grade I was sitting on my desk. Someone knocked on the classroom door, and it was my job to open the door. Out of nowhere this boy came and wouldn’t let me pass by. I got angry so I got a pencil and hit him with it. I let my anger take over me and that was my fault thought. He said it drew blood but I can tell he already had a scab where I had got him. I then got a referral and was sent to the office. The fact of the matter was that I was sent to the Vice principal and she answered my questions for me. She knew I was too vulnerable to speak so she asked me questions knowing I wouldn’t know what to say because I was so crying so much. I never knew if my referral got denied after that or not but that day is still stuck in my head. My question is, will it be on my permanent record? I know colleges won’t look at a referral. I’m just asking if it will be on my permanent record? (Also some tips to comfort me would be delightful :(
Thanks for reading this.
Melissa.
Answer:
Each state is different, at the end of the day, your education district or chancellor decides. For example if you got suspended in elementary school, your record wil be removed by middle school. It’s okay and we all make mistakes, colleges won’t see this unless it’s on permanent record. For example me, when I was in grade school, I got suspended for bringing a butter knife, but at the end of the day if its in elementary or middle school, don’t do anything bad before yiu23====

Which statement best describes the relationship between the people and the government in a dictatorship?
A. Dictators rule for as long as the people allow them to rule.
B. Dictators have complete authority over the people.
C. In a dictatorship, the people control the army.
D. In a dictatorship, an oligarchy is elected by the people.
Answer:
B. Dictators have Complete Authority over the People.
Explanation:
For as long as there has been civilization, and governments, there has been Dictators, which have 2 main classifications, Authoritarian & Totalitarian.
Authoritarianism
Authoritarianism is an ideology distinctly defined as: "To have Absolute Power over the People" In ancient times, sharply in the medieval era, Absolute Monarchies have been the most common form of Authoritarianism, It has been widely debated that leaders chose the path of dictatorship because: "They do not trust their people to be free" or "I can make our country a lot stronger if I would have all the power" the second example is called a beneficial dictatorship, and you will learn more about that later in my statement.
Totalitarianism
Totalitarianism is what's known as a more extreme form of authoritarianism, it goes a little bit further than your average dictatorship, saying that totalitarianism is more extreme than authoritarianism, in an authoritarian government, the leader doesn't exert 100% control over the people, a totalitarian government is a different story and there have been many infamous totalitarian regimes.
Infamous Totalitarian Regimes:
* Third German Reich (Nazi Germany)
* Russian Empire
* Early Soviet Union (Joseph Stalin)
* the People's Republic of China (Mao Zedong)
* North Korea (Kim Dynasty)
* Italy (Benito Mussolini)
A Dictatorship isn't always just one person who has supreme power over the entire country in which they may rule, power may be split to a small group of people called an oligarchy, the two main types of authoritarianism is Autocracy (One Ruler) and oligarchy (Multiple Rulers)
Types of Dictatorships:
1. Beneficial Dictatorship
A "Beneficial Dictatorship" or a "Dictatorship for the benefit of the people" is a type of dictatorship, authoritarian, or totalitarian, in which a ruler exercises absolute political power for the benefit of the people, it stands as an example that not all dictatorships are bad, but still, there are not enough benevolent dictatorships in our human history.
2. Single-Party Dictatorship
A single party dictatorship or single party government is a system of government in which 1 party rules the nation, and the citizens of that country are banned from associating themselves with another party, usually the leader of the party is the leader of the country.
3. Personalist Dictatorship
Also known as a One-man dictatorship, which is what we have been discussing, in a personalist dictatorship power lies within one man.
4. Military Dictatorships
Also called Military Junta's, the name should be obvious, in a military junta, the military rules over the people, complete or substantial control.
That is all! I have a lot more about this to discuss about this topic but I really don't want to flood you with information!

What governmental policy could be developed to avoid funneling low income defendants in the criminal justice system for the sake of revenue?
Answer:
Far from offering people a "second chance," our criminal justice system frequently punishes those who never had a first chance: people in poverty. By focusing law enforcement on low-level offenses and subjecting criminal defendants to money bail and other fees, our country effectively punishes people for being poor.

Answer:
With Perm From The female With out perm officer will loose his job.
Explanation:
In most agencies female officers are few and far between. In my county (counting local police departments, sheriff, CHP, Fish and Game, and various federal BLM and National Park officers) there is a whopping total of 4 female officers in the entire county (not counting correctional deputies at the jail who are not free to travel to the field and injured female officers currently unavailable)! The odds of a female officer being available and in the area on any stop we make is astronomical.
If the law required same-s$x searches, then we would have to detain females for an hour or longer at the scene of any stop.
