Read this stanza from “The Song of Wandering Aengus” by William Butler Yeats.

I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout.

Answers

Answer:

Smart Fabric Technology by Outlast Technologies, Inc., of Boulder, Colo., was honored for a fabric first developed for potential use in spacesuits. The goal was to create a material to better protect astronauts from the bitter cold and searing heat of space. The technology impregnates the fabric with microencapsulated paraffin wax that chemically reacts to counteract high or low body temperatures. The millions of microcapsules recycle stored energy by absorbing and releasing excess body heat. If a person is cold, the material becomes warm. If the person is hot, the material cools. It is being used commercially in gloves, boots, jackets and bedding.

What if human developed a way for people to have absolute control over their emotions? Like, if something sad happened to you, you could force yourself to feel happy? Or if something scary was happening, you could force yourself to feel brave? What might be the pros of that? What might be the cons?

Pav Ur Pav is very curious what you think! If your answer is between 100-150 words, your RPG character receives +10 gold. If your answer is over 150 words, your character also receives +1 to its Linguistic stat.

Answers

Answer:

If people could has absolute control of they're emotions the world wouldn't be the same. If something sad happened it would be best to stay happy so that Is what I would do. You wouldn't want to sit around moping all day.

If something scary was happening of course you would chose not to be scared because who wants to be scared. But also if you chose not to be scared there is no fun in it then. You would also need time to process and think of what your emotion should be at that moment so our reactions would be slower.  You would also know what to expect whereas when we can't control our emotions a lot of the time we don't know what to expect.

The pros: You won't have to mope when your sad, you can be happy. You won't have to hide your feelings because you can control them.

The cons: If you go to a haunted house or something like that it's either because you were forced to go by someone or because you want to purposely get scared. If you were allowed to control your feelings you would chose not to get scared right?

Writing prompt: Write an argumentative essay for or against maintaining traditional coming-of-age ceremonies, such as a quinceañera.

Answers

Answer:

Here is my full, 5 paragraph revised essay on this exact prompt! I tried my very best, so copy and paste this and you are good to go!

Explanation:

Do you have any traditional coming-of-age ceremonies, such as a bar mitzvah or a quinceañera? Well good for you! I believe we should maintain these beautiful traditions for many reasons. They can be fun, and especially awarding; how accomplishing it would feel to know that you have completed a large step in life! But let’s talk about some of the traditions and what they are.

First, what’s a bar mitzvah? It is the religious initiation ritual of a Jewish boy who has passed the age of 13 and is considered able to follow religious precepts and qualified to take part in public worship. And widely celebrated by Latinos, the quinceañera represents a significant landmark in the life of a girl. Part birthday celebration, part rite of passage, it symbolizes a girl's entry into womanhood as she turns 15.

Now we can discuss why we should always maintain them. First of all, they are quite significant. They have great significance behind them. Growing up is a very important part of life, which is what these traditions honor. And these events can be enjoyable, and they can be especially accomplishing. But there's another justification for this as well.

Secondly, these cultural traditions are very beautiful. For example, the quinceañera is a very pretty thing to see, because they find very beautiful dresses and outfits to wear, and the bar/bat mitzvah with the fancy Torah scroll! However, although the quinceañera is a pretty sight to see, I do believe the meaning of it is quite peculiar. Apparently, the point is to celebrate going into womanhood, and the readiness of marriage. But I do believe that 15 is too young to be considered a grown woman and be ready for marriage. But as long as they don’t rush the girl that is being celebrated into all of that, I do believe the tradition should be continued.

In conclusion, I agree that these cultural traditions can endure as long as the boys and girls who are celebrated do not hurry into activities that are more suitable for older individuals, such as the quinceañera and the readiness to marry. So what do you make of that? Do you agree these traditions are worth maintaining?
