Answers

Answer:

A. Those who profess devotion must declare so publicly, loudly, and often.

Explanation:

Jonathan Edwards was a preacher in the 1700s who advocated for people to declare their devotion to God, so that would make the most sense.

B doesn't make much sense.

C is true, but not applicable.

D is not really what he believed in.

So, I would say A as your answer. I'm about 95 percent sure it's correct.

Hope this helps!

Considering the available options, Jonathan Edwards would MOST LIKELY agree with, " The true believer can be observed by his or her actions in service of the faith."

This is because Jonathan Edwards is known for his pastoral works in 18th century America.

He was known as one of the forerunners of the First Great Awakening in the United States.

He made justification by faith alone as the primary content of his evangelical works.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that Jonathan Edwards would MOST LIKELY agree with, " The true believer can be observed by his or her actions in service of the faith."

Read the following passage.

"Hey," Donald called out. "Have you noticed this place is a catastrophe?"
Kevin surveyed the house--plates stacked in the sink, coffee stains on the kitchen floor and laundry strewn about. It was all the debris of a week without parents.
"When does Dad come back again?" They both looked at the clock. Two hours.
Kevin scavenged for bleach, and Donald clambered for soap. Scrubbing, disinfecting, folding and spritzing, they sweated their way through a fast-paced cleaning regime that would have impressed the most thorough of housekeepers. An hour and fifty minutes later, they heard the key turn in the lock. Their dad came through the door. The whole house had been cleaned. But Donald and Kevin had both collapsed in puddles of exhaustion on the couch.

Which of the following revisions to the underlined sentence is in the active voice?

A
Bleach and soap had been used to clean the whole house.

B

Answer:

Checks and Balances- This idea is implemented in the Constitution to ensure that no one branch of the federal government gains too much power. For example, the legislative branch (Congress) can approve a bill that will then be sent to the executive branch (President). If the president does not like the bill or thinks that it violates the rights of citizens, he/she can veto the bill. Vetoing the bill stops the bill from becoming a law. This check on power ensures that Congress makes laws that do not violate the rights of citizens.

Anti-Federalists do not want to ratify the Constitution unless it includes a Bill of Rights. The Anti-Federalists are worried that the Constitution gives too much power to the federal government. Having a strong central government caused problems when the US was still part of Great Britain. This is why the Anti-federalists are fearful of this type of system.

The Federalists they supported the Constitution, and attempted to convince the States to ratify the document. Both Hamilton and Madison argued that the Constitution didn't need a Bill of Rights, that it would create a "parchment barrier" that limited the rights of the people, as opposed to protecting them.

Anti-Federalism was a late-18th century movement that opposed the creation of a stronger U.S. federal government and which later opposed the ratification of the 1787 Constitution. The previous constitution, called the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, gave state governments more authority.

Separation of powers is a doctrine of constitutional law under which the three branches of government (executive, legislative, and judicial) are kept separate. This is also known as the system of checks and balances, because each branch is given certain powers so as to check and balance the other branches. The Federalist Papers is a collection of 85 articles and essays written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay under the pseudonym "Publius" to promote the ratification of the United States Constitution.Anti-Federalism was a late-18th century movement that opposed the creation of a stronger U.S. federal government and which later opposed the ratification of the 1787 Constitution.

James Madison wrote the amendments, which list specific prohibitions on governmental power, in response to calls from several states for greater constitutional protection for individual liberties

Explanation:

Answer:

Although he enumerated several reasons for his opposition, Madison then gave his friend hope when he stated that most important reason in favor of a Bill of Rights was that, “The political truths declared in that solemn manner acquire by degrees the character of fundamental maxims of free Government, and as they become incorporated with the National sentiment, counteract the impulses of interest and passion.”  Madison thought the liberties would become engrained in the American character.
