Study the chart showing levels of American troops in Vietnam.

Based on this chart, why did antiwar protests peak in the late 1960s?

The number of troops sent to Vietnam was steadily increasing.

The number of forces fighting in Vietnam decreased far too rapidly.

The number of US forces in Vietnam had doubled from 1964 to 1968.

The number of US troops in Vietnam had reached half a million by 1966.

Answers

Answer:

My answer is not only based on the chart.

Explanation:

The number of American deaths was getting outrageous but the main reason people started to protest is to protect the Vietnamese. America was killing millions of innocent women and children for no apparent reason. For organizations such as  the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam, the Black Panthers and the Youth International Party (the Yippies) had had enough of being responsible (in a way) for these deaths.

if you need interesting info, "The trial of Chicago 7" on Netflix explains the situation perfectly.

Hope it helps :)

Antiwar protests peaked in the late 1960s because the number of US forces in Vietnam had doubled from 1964 to 1968. Therefore, option C is correct.

What was antiwar protests?

Antiwar protests refer to public demonstrations, rallies, and other forms of political activism aimed at opposing a government's decision to engage in military conflict.

Typically, these protests are organized by groups or individuals who believe that war is not an effective or just means of resolving disputes, and who advocate for peaceful alternatives to armed conflict.

Antiwar protests have occurred throughout history and have taken many different forms, from peaceful marches and sit-ins to more confrontational actions such as civil disobedience and sabotage.

Some of the most famous antiwar protests in modern history took place during the Vietnam War era in the 1960s and 1970s, when millions of people across the United States and other countries rallied against the war and called for its end.

Today, antiwar protests continue to be organized around the world in response to ongoing military conflicts and tensions between nations. These protests serve as a way for people to express their opposition to war and to call for greater efforts towards peaceful solutions to global conflicts.

Describe how both France and Britain made it to Fashoda. Why was this event a mirror of how the two countries approached imperialism?

Answers

Answer:

The Fashoda Incident was the climax of imperial territorial disputes between Britain and France in East Africa, occurring in 1898. A French expedition to Fashoda on the White Nile river sought to gain control of the Upper Nile river basin and thereby exclude Britain from the Sudan. The French party and a British-Egyptian force (outnumbering the French by 10 to 1) met on friendly terms, but back in Europe, it became a war scare. The British held firm as both empires stood on the verge of war with heated rhetoric on both sides. Under heavy pressure, the French withdrew, ensuring Anglo-Egyptian control over the area. The status quo was recognized by an agreement between the two states acknowledging British control over Egypt, while France became the dominant power in Morocco. France had failed in its main goals.

Should Columbus be judged by today’s standards? Should we continue to celebrate Columbus Day?

Answers

Columbus day is the day marking the arrival of Christopher Columbus to the Americas. Christopher Columbus technically did not discover America as it had already had civilization, but at the same time nobody on the eastern hemisphere really knew of the americas and he discovered the americas for THEM, but not for those on the western hemisphere. in short, Columbus day is just a day marking some Italian guys arrival to a country and him telling his friends about it, it’s really just meaningless now because it’s mostly common knowledge that Christopher Columbus didn’t technically discover the America’s, instead he just introduced the Americas to western Europe.

What is shari'a law?

Answers

Here's link to the answer:

tinyurl.com/wpazsebu

Explanation:

"The law, as we understand the word in the West, meaning the rules that regulate relations among people, is an integral part of Sharia. Rules of law are rules of Sharia, but not all the rules of Sharia are rules of law.  However, the words “Sharia” and “law” are often used interchangeably.

After the death of the Prophet Mohammed, Muslim jurists known as fuqaha’ (singular faqih) began studying the Sharia to discern its legal rules, leading to the formation of schools of Islamic legal thought known as mazahib (singular mazhab).  The work of these schools initiated a new discipline of Islamic study known as ilm al-fiqh or the science of knowledge.[2]

The Islamic legal theory espoused by these schools compared the law to a tree with few roots and many branches and divided ilm al-fiqh into ilm al-usul, or science of the roots, and ilm al-fourou’, or science of the branches.

Ilm al-usul dealt with the philosophical underpinning of Sharia law and the methodology used to elucidate the legal rules applicable in the various fields of the law, while ilm al-fourou’ dealt with the actual elucidation of these rules.  The elucidation process is called ijtihad, or exertion of the utmost efforts in seeking to translate God’s commands and exhortations into specific legal rules.

Ilm al-fourou’ is divided into two major components, ibadat and muamalat. Ibadat means “worship” and consists of the rules applicable to religious rituals such as prayer, fasting, and pilgrimage.  These rules are mandatory, but their implementation is left to the personal decisions of the believers.  Muamalat, on the other hand, means “transactional dealings” and consists of the rules applicable to commercial and other types of relations, such as trade, marriage, and partnerships.  The rules of muamalat constitute a comprehensive legal system whose legal rules can be identified by consulting the writings of the jurists of the relevant school of Islamic legal thought.

Sharia law may vary from one school to another on certain issues. For example, according to the Shiite Jaafari school, the law of inheritance gives the daughters of the deceased parents the right to inherit all non-reserved parts of the estate in the absence of male siblings, while the Sunni schools (Hanafi, Shafii, Maliki, and Hanbali) do not.[3]"
