Answer:
Dear Natalie (random name; you can replace it),
Today I ran into bad and good news. I'm not sure which one to tell you first. Bad news, I failed my exam. Leaving the best for last, the good news is that I helped someone. That's not all though. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, or if it's just fate, but as I was walking out of the school building, I noticed an elderly woman. Even though my emotions were jumbled up and I wasn't in a happy mood, I let it all pass and went over to the woman. She was carrying a lot of groceries, and it looked like she was having trouble. I tapped on her shoulder lightly and kindly asked if she needed assistance.
"Why yes, thank you. You are so very kind," the woman looked up at me and smiled.
"No worries. Now let me help you with that," I lifted the groceries with both hands.
I walked the woman home, and as we did, during the way I introduced myself.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Kaitlyn," I said.
"It was a pleasure to meet you as well. I'm Janice," she responded.
I noticed something slightly off with Janice, but I just walked on. After we arrived, she invited me to some afternoon tea, which I accepted kindly.
"So, I noticed that you weren't feeling happy when we met. Why is that?" Janice asked as she put down the tea.
"It's nothing big. I just failed a test in my worst subject," I forced a smile.
"Well, that's not a big deal. I may be able to help you," Janice patted my shoulder.
"What? How would you-"
"Let me formally introduce myself. I'm Janice Whitely, the vice president of the Volunteer Society. About your test, it's not that big. You can just try to make up for it by earning extra credit. I'm now recruiting new members for the Volunteer Society, and I think you'd be perfect," Janice grinned.
"Really? That would be such an honor! Thank you so much," I gratefully thanked Janice.
So, Natalie, do you think today was bad or good? I'll leave you to decide that when you reply to me.
From your best friend,
Rachel.

Workers on strike - Ananya press - workers in strike - demand increase in salary allowances and bonus - 10 days negotiation failed - hunger strike from tomorrow
Title: Ananya Press Workers Launch Hunger Strike Amid Stalled Negotiations
Subtitle: 10-day negotiation period ends without resolution as workers demand increased salaries, allowances, and bonuses.
ANANYA CITY (June 29, 2023) - Employees of Ananya Press, one of the leading printing presses in the region, have declared they will begin a hunger strike tomorrow. This drastic measure comes after a 10-day negotiation period with the company’s management failed to reach a resolution concerning increased salaries, allowances, and bonuses.
Workers at Ananya Press have been on strike for over a week, putting a halt to operations. The employees’ grievances include demands for an increase in salary, a rise in allowances, and an annual bonus that reflects the growing demands of their job and the rising cost of living.
According to the workers’ union spokesperson, Ms. Ritu Sharma, the decision to embark on a hunger strike was not taken lightly. "We have been trying to engage in constructive dialogue with the management for the past 10 days," she explained. "Unfortunately, our attempts have not led to any significant changes or offers, leaving us with no other option but to escalate our protest."
During the negotiations, workers sought a 15% increase in their salaries, a substantial rise in housing and transport allowances, and a performance-based annual bonus. However, the management of Ananya Press stated that the demands were "unfeasible", citing concerns over the current economic climate and operational costs.
Mr. Rajiv Mehra, the CEO of Ananya Press, stated that the company had offered a "fair and reasonable" 5% salary increase along with a modest increment in allowances. However, this offer was rejected by the workers as being insufficient to meet their needs.
The impending hunger strike has raised concerns among local authorities, who are monitoring the situation closely. The mayor of Ananya City, Mrs. Geeta Singh, urged both parties to return to the negotiation table. "We cannot allow this to escalate further. The welfare of the workers is paramount and so is the continuity of business for Ananya Press, which is a crucial player in our local economy," she commented.
As the workers prepare for their hunger strike tomorrow, there is growing concern for the future of Ananya Press and the livelihoods of its employees. Both parties face mounting pressure to resolve their differences and find a solution that satisfies the workers' demands while ensuring the company's sustainability.
For now, the eyes of the community, as well as the nation, are focused on the unfolding drama at Ananya Press. The hunger strike marks a critical turning point in the ongoing labor dispute, and the consequences of this action are yet to be seen.

Explanation:
Internal tensions within the ecclesiastical operations of African Methodism coexisted with the broad activism of African Methodist Episcopal members (AMEs) in civil rights, Black Power, and anticolonial insurgencies. The bishops and other clerical and lay leaders whose vocations focused on denominational affairs contrasted with militant ministers and members who defined African Methodism through a praxis that aimed at societal reconstruction in the United States and ending colonialism in Africa. The objectives of denominational governance, however, diverted attention away from energized opposition to hegemonic structures and practices that harmed AME constituencies. Though the maintenance of African Methodism as a proud and independent religious body remained as a worthwhile demonstration of black self-determination and institutional autonomy, this preoccupation caused some leaders to extend only perfunctory support to significant initiatives against white supremacy. Some clergy, however, balanced their immersion in denominational affairs with social activism. Such ministers similarly advocated significant reform within the AME Church to effect fiscal accountability and greater democracy in ecclesiastical governance.

from Aesop's Fables
A Fox one day spied a beautiful bunch of ripe grapes hanging from a vine trained along the branches of a tree. The grapes seemed ready to burst with juice, and the Fox's mouth watered as he gazed longingly at them.
The bunch hung from a high branch, and the Fox had to jump for it. The first time he jumped he missed it by a long way. So, he walked off a short distance and took a running leap at it, only to fall short once more. Again, and again he tried, but in vain.
Now he sat down and looked at the grapes in disgust. "What a fool I am," he said. "Here I am wearing myself out to get a bunch of sour grapes that are not worth gaping for."

But is the trend great for consumers? Perhaps not—some influencers have deceived their followers and made it impossible to escape advertising. In the past, it was very clear when you were looking at an online advertisement. Advertisements were everywhere, but they were fairly easy to ignore. The author believes that advertising through Instagram influencers is sometimes deceptive.

Read this passage from Through the Looking-Glass. “I always thought they were fabulous monsters!” said the Unicorn. “Is it alive?” “It can talk,” said Haigha, solemnly. The Unicorn looked dreamily at Alice, and said, “Talk, child.” Alice could not help her lips curling up into a smile as she began: “Do you know, I always thought Unicorns were fabulous monsters, too! I never saw one alive before!” “Well, now that we have seen each other,” said the Unicorn, “if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?” “Yes, if you like,” said Alice. How does the author develop the Unicorn’s character in this passage? He uses the Unicorn’s actions to show a changing attitude: at first the Unicorn dreams about monsters, but later he smiles at Alice. discuss the meaning of two instance of figurative language then choose three words and explain how the connections of those three words create meaning in the poem
pls help if you don't know the answer pls dont answer
Answer:
There is repetition, where the poet has repeated "in spite of", meaning that despite these things, all of this still happens. There is also imagery in this example. Using the words, we can see what the speaker wants us to see. They want us to see the morning burns whiteley, or how life is full of joy, and yet it is despite all of the war and death. A "whispering breath" can mean two things. That the speaker is dreaming, or that the voice they hear is their own, in their mind. "Altar" is being used as a setting, a place we can see the morning, unlike in other poems. Lastly, we see the word "ecstasy"be used, and while it literally means something that is full of joy and happiness, the connotation here is the same thing.

PLEASE HELP NEED THIS DONE BY THE END OF THE DAY!!! Write a brief objective summary of chapter 2 of Trash Vortex. Be sure to include two central ideas and how they are developed in the text.
I'm just putting it here to ;)
Summary of Trash Vortex:
Plastic started to flood into people's lives. It replaced lots of other materials too. Also, it would be transformed into new objects. Children would play with plastic putty. This shows us that plastic is really popular, but the cost of being popular can harm our environment. People use plastic materials in their modern life. Plastic offered other conveniences such as disposable items like plates, cups, napkins. Although they're all meant to be thrown away after use.
Plastic trash began to accumulate in waterways. This caused waterways to be polluted and non-safe drinking water with diseases. For example, Ohio's river was so polluted with chemicals it caught on fire. causing to catch the attention of government leaders. The federal clean water act added rules in 1972 on industrial plants along waterways. That said waterways continued to trash accumulating a bit in reason of wind sweeping plastic and other non-disposable items.
I'm not sure if this is correct if Trash Vortex is about plastic and pollution, but I'm glad I helped. :)

Read the passage from The American Plague.
Adding to his frustration was the fact that very few official papers had made their way to him at Mount Vernon. Washington was a stickler for orderly files that he could search at a moment's notice. This was the most important way he kept himself informed about the hundreds of things happening in the fledgling nation. Unfortunately, when the government clerks had panicked and dashed from Philadelphia, they had abandoned all papers and records in boarded-up houses. No one knew where these documents were; and no one was willing to risk his or her life wandering, through the infected city in search of them.
What conclusion does the cause-and-reflect relationship in this passage support?
Washington lacked the information he needed to govern effectively.
Washington got information in other ways so he could govern effectively.
Washington was so angry at the clerks that he did not govern effectively.
Washington was too frustrated by his missing papers to govern effectively.
Mark this and return

What is a central idea developed in the beginning of your Novel by Raina Telgemeier?
-Use the RADDE writing strategy
Answer:
R: Read
Raina Telgemeier's novel Smile tells the story of a middle school girl named Raina who is struggling with a variety of issues. The novel is a graphic memoir and recounts Raina's real-life experiences.
A: Ask
What is the central idea developed in the beginning of Smile by Raina Telgemeier?
D: Determine
After reading the beginning of the novel, the central idea developed is that Raina is looking forward to getting braces, hoping they will fix her teeth and boost her self-confidence.
D: Locate and Highlight
"I was just starting sixth grade when my dental nightmare began." (page 3)
"Getting braces was a good thing. I was excited to finally get them..." (page 8)
"I was so happy! I couldn't stop smiling. I felt like a brand-new person." (page 10)
E: Evaluate
Raina's excitement about getting braces sets up the central conflict of the novel, which is her journey towards accepting herself regardless of her physical appearance. Raina's initial excitement about the braces shows that she believes they will solve all of her problems and make her feel better about herself. However, the rest of the novel shows that this is not the case, and that self-acceptance comes from within rather than from external changes.
Therefore, the central idea developed in the beginning of Smile by Raina Telgemeier is that Raina is hopeful that getting braces will fix her teeth and increase her self-confidence, setting up the central conflict of the novel.
