Today was an experience I’m supper glad I could have. It started out with my family and I waking up at five in the morning to get to the airport. I hardly slept the night before because I was excited to be going in an airplane the first time. Once we got to the airport, I could see how big the planes were but once inside they don’t look too big. The flight had a lot of turbulence and my mom was getting nervous. Although I really enjoyed it, I just imagined it as a roller-coaster. Once we were about to land, I look out the window and I could see all the clouds it was amazing I could imagine touching them and seeing how soft they were. After that We went inside the clouds it was super foggy but cool. Once we got out of the clouds, I could see the city it was big! And seeing it from above it was pretty

I had hardly slept the night before due to all the excitement I was feeling about flying in an airplane for the first time. Once we had got to the airport, I could see all the big airplanes and how amazing they looked up close. But the excitement of the big planes had died down when we got into the actual thing, to put it bluntly, it wasn't as cool as I had hoped. On the ride to our destination, there was a lot of turbulence and my mother had begun to grow nervous. I wasn't very aware of this thought because I was enjoying the roller-coaster of a ride. As the plane was getting closer to landing, I looked out the window to see all the majestic clouds rolling by below us, I thought it was amazing! I imagined reaching out to touch them, feeling how soft they were. When the plane had flown into the clouds, it was all foggy, a interesting experience. As we exited the cloudy part of the ride, I could see the huge city! It was an impowering feeling and so beautiful to see it from above. I'm extremely happy to have gone on this tip and hope to feel this way again fairly soon!

My name was Tommy Stubbins, son of Jacob Stubbins, the cobbler of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh; and I was nine and a half years old. At that time Puddleby was only quite a small town. A river ran through the middle of it; and over this river there was a very old stone bridge, called Kingsbridge, which led you from the market-place on one side to the churchyard on the other.

Sailing-ships came up this river from the sea and anchored near the bridge. I used to go down and watch the sailors unloading the ships upon the river-wall. The sailors sang strange songs as they pulled upon the ropes; and I learned these songs by heart. And I would sit on the river-wall with my feet dangling over the water and sing with the men, pretending to myself that I too was a sailor.

For I longed always to sail away with those brave ships when they turned their backs on Puddleby Church and went creeping down the river again, across the wide lonely marshes to the sea. I longed to go with them out into the world to seek my fortune in foreign lands—Africa, India, China and Peru! When they got round the bend in the river and the water was hidden from view, you could still see their huge brown sails towering over the roofs of the town, moving onward slowly—like some gentle giants that walked among the houses without noise.
