Answer and Explanation:
I was so focused I couldn't hear the cries and screams at first. It took me a couple of minutes to realize some building were in flames, lighting up like torches, illuminating the streets and the people below. I looked at the sky again, mesmerized by the size of the ships, fascinated by their unusual colors and appearance. Someone tugged my shirt and yelled “run”. I ran.
So this is what it felt like. The invasion so many art works had predicted. All those books and movies, all the effects to portray the appalling destruction we would face. Well, they were not wrong. Here they finally were – the others, the aliens. I wondered for an instant what they looked like, only to realize I would most likely never know. They were trying to kill me. They were trying to kill everyone. They were going to succeed.
We fought back, you see. And by “we” I don’t mean us, the citizens on the streets who had gone out to meet friends and lovers, to grab a bite and a beer. I mean our governments, our military forces. All to no avail; they were as doomed as the rest of us. Only we were going to die screaming in fear, while they were going to go in a glorious final moment of bravery and patriotism. It was death all the same.
No one is ready for an apocalypse. There are no bunkers, no safe houses or basements, no effective weapons just lying around, waiting to be used against extraterrestrials. I was not sure what to do, so I chose to keep on running for as long as I could to wherever looked safer. At a corner, I picked up a puppy that seemed too young to understand why so many humans were crazily darting by. I tucked it under my shirt, held it as safely and comfortably as was possible under such dire circumstances, and kept running.
Then, it was all over. The attacks ceased, the ships withdrew, the aliens left. What was that all about? The next morning, the puppy and I watched the news together – I was shocked at their professionalism; my mental state was far from balanced enough to go back to work, yet those reporters never even stopped. It was all a demonstration of power. They wanted us to know we are the weak ones. Apparently, there was no intention of colonizing our planet; or at least not for now. But we were to obey, to listen to their instructions, to heed their orders. They said it was for our own good. How ironic...
The tide of the war turned with the invasion of Normandy.
The invasion began on D-Day, June 6, 1944. In the early
morning hours, thousands of troops from the United States,
Canada, Britain, and France, waded ashore on five
beaches in northern France. From there, they fought tooth
and nail against German forces, eventually defeating the
Germans and marking the beginning of the liberation of
France and the end of World War II in Europe.

Explanation:
The diagonals of rhombus ABCD intersect at E. Given that m∠CAD=20° and CE=4, find the m∠CDA.
Given :
The diagonals of rhombus ABCD intersect at E.
∠CAD = 20°.
To Find :
The angle ∠CDA.
Solution :
We know, diagonals of a rhombus bisects each other perpendicularly.
So, ∠DEA = 90°.
In triangle ΔEAD :
∠EAD + ∠AED + ∠EDA = 180°
20° + 90° + ∠EDA = 180°
∠EDA = 70°
Now, we know diagonal of rhombus also bisect the angle between two sides .
So, ∠CDA = 2∠EDA
∠CDA = 2×70°
∠CDA =140°
Therefore, ∠CDA is 140°.

The last lines of the novel are famous. Think of as many reasons as you can for why Steinbeck chooses to end the novel in this way, and explain why the ending might fit in so well.
[Context: The last line of the novel is Curly's response to George as he and walks away, with Slim consoling him after Lennie dies. Curly says, “Now what the hell ya suppose is eatin' them two guys?”]
Answer:
I think he ended it like that because he wanted the book to have some sort of hooking. Or because the entire book is about Lennie and George being together and just being there for each other, so maybe he ended it so that the readers can just understand what George is kind of going through.
Explanation:
Conclusion in order to create a hook for the book. Or possibly because the entire novel is about Lennie and George's relationship and how they support one another, he chose to end it in such a way that readers can simply comprehend George's situation.
What is the moral of the story?
The lesson of the novel, Mice and Men, shows how working-class people have little real freedom and are frequently held hostage by their surroundings.
This line is appropriate since it contrasts George's loyalty to Lennie with Curly's lack of dedication to anyone. Even more so than Curly's marriage to his wife, George and Lennie's bond was unbreakable.
Since he was unique, most people assumed he couldn't offer anything, but in actuality, he had a profound influence on George and ultimately Slim.
Of course, this fiction does not reflect reality in the icy, cruel world. Innocence and people who look out for one another have no place in society.
Hence, the significance of the mice and men is aforementioned.

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the intelligence of machines. The term also refers to the developing field of computer science that is responsible for creating intelligent machines. Scientists and engineers are working on computer software intended to imitate the human thought process, such as learning and reasoning. A computer can already do some things better than people, such as store information, solve numerical problems, and complete repetitive tasks. Computers have been able to perform these kinds of tasks by using algorithms, which are clearly defined sets of instructions. In contrast, AI software only presents a problem to the computer, not the steps necessary to solve the problem. The computer itself determines how to solve the problem.
AI programs contain two essential components. First, the computer program must contain a knowledge base that includes different types of information, such as facts, concepts, and theories. The second component is enabling the computer to draw inferences, which means that the computer can form a conclusion based on facts and knowledge. In this scenario, a computer with AI intelligence is presented with a problem to be solved. The computer then searches its knowledge base for specific conditions or patterns that fit the problem to be solved. This ability of AI programs to solve a problem based on facts rather than on a fixed series of steps is what mimics the thought process of a human brain.
Whether or not a computer can really think is still up for debate, even though there are numerous examples of machines that can be said to resemble human intelligence. For example, IBM developed Deep Blue, a chess-playing computer that defeated Garry Kasparov in 1997. However, even these kinds of computer programs are limited because they can only do what they have been programmed to do. Most scientists and researchers agree that machines currently lack the subtlety and range of human thought. However, as AI technology develops, more questions and debate will surely arise. The most important issue going forward is how AI technology can best serve the humans who created it.
Select the correct answer.
Which audience did the author likely have in mind when writing the article?
A. those who develop AI computer programs
B. those with moderate knowledge of technology
C. those with deep knowledge of technology
D. those who study the effects of human behavior
Answer:
B. Those with moderate knowledge of technology
Explanation:
When we're writing a text or preparing a speech, we need to pay attention to whom our audience will consist of. This will allow us to adjust our language and the information we include so that we are well-understood by the audience.
When writing this article, the author probably had in mind those with moderate knowledge of technology. The article describes a very complex concept, which is why it's not aimed at someone who knows nothing about technology. However, the author put it in layman's terms. This is why we can conclude that it is not intended for developers of AI programs or those with deep knowledge of technology. The effects of human behavior are not the topic of the article, which is why those who study it are not the target audience.
This is why option B is the correct one.

William Shakespeare wrote many of his poems in the form of a sonnet. The type of sonnet he used is now usually referred to as the Shakespearean sonnet. It consists of three quatrains and a couplet. The rhyme scheme is abab cdcd efef gg, and the meter the lines are written in is iambic pentameter.
In Sonnet 100, the speaker speaks to his muse, asking her to help him immortalize his love. He asks her to rise and return to him and help him. Answer:
order of importance
Explanation:
The organizational structure being used in this scenario is called order of importance. The individual is ordering the reasons why their goal is to earn straight A's by how important each reason is to his/her life. The most important reason for them is that getting such high grades will allow them to get into any college they want with a scholarship. After this, the next important reason is their parent's approval, but this is not as important as the scholarship. Therefore, the individual is dividing each reason by level of importance.
