Answer 1

Answer:

[tex]g(x) = 5x^2[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

In the equation x^2, when x = 1, y = 1. But in g(x), when x is 1, y is 5. Since g(x) is a scaled version of x^2, we can conclude that g(x) is 5 times x^2.

Therefore, [tex]g(x) = 5x^2[/tex].

Find P(E and F) if P(E or F)=.45

Answers

There are three section here

First section is the event of only E, the second is the event of only F, and the third is the event of the overlap of E and F

E or F means the total unit of events. Which is (only E)+(only F)-(E and F)

Using substitution we get 45=20+45-(E and F)

solving the equation

E and F=65-45

E and F=20

Therefore, P(E and F) is 20

Flying agaist the wind, an airplane travels 6300 kilometers in7 hours. Flying with the wind, the same plane travels 8400 in 6 hours. What is the rate of the plane is still air and what is the rate of the wind?

Answers

Answer:

plane: 1150 kphwind: 250 kph

Step-by-step explanation:

The given relationships allow us to write a system of equations in the speeds of the wind and plane.

Let w and p represent the speeds of the wind and the plane, respectively. We know speed is the ratio of distance to time, so ...

  p -w = 6300 km/(7 h) = 900 km/h

  p +w = 8400 km/(6 h) = 1400 km/h

__

Adding these two equations gives ...

  2p = 2300 km/h

  p = 1150 km/h . . . . . . divide by 2

Subtracting the first equation from the second gives ...

  2w = 500 km/h

  w = 250 km/h

The speed of the plane in still air is 1150 km per hour; the speed of the wind is 250 km per hour.

Answer: x=-3

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, they simply want you to find a pair of x and y-coordinates that would be valid in this equation.

We can take a random number for x, like, say, 3.

y = 2x + 6

y = 2(3) + 6

y = 6 + 6

y = 12

Since giving the value of 3 to x results in y being 12, we can safely say that the coordinates (3, 12) would be valid in this equation. Therefore:

(12) = 2(3) + 6

How to determine the sequence of transformations?

The question is incomplete;

So, I will give a general explanation

For the two rectangles are similar shapes, then the corresponding sides of the shapes must be similar.

If the rectangles do not have the same size, then the scale ratio of the sides of the rectangles must be the same

if the rectangles have the same size, then the rectangles must fit perfectly on one another

Answer:

y = 4 1/3x+ 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1. The slope-intercept form is given as y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. The y-intercept occurs at x=0 or point (0,b).

-18 -8 / -2 - 4 =  -26 / -6  = 4 1/3  perp = - 4 1/3  =  y=4 1/3 x+b

Step 2. -18 -8 / -2 - 4 =  -26 / -6  = 4 1/3  perp = - 4 1/3  is a vertical line or parallel to the y-axis. So a line perpendicular to x= 4 1/3  is a horizontal line parallel to the x-axis.

Step 3. Therefore y= 4 1/3  is a horizontal line parallel to the x-axis. Now, the line needs to pass through point (5,6) or x=5 and y=6. Then, y=b=6 or y=6 is the equation of the line. but then  x = 4 1/3   so y = 4 1/3x + 6

Step 4. ANSWER: The equation is  y = 4 1/3x+ 6  where slope m=4 1/3 and y intercept b=6.

Its perimeter is 23 units

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of any figure is the sum of the lengths of its outline sides

The rule of the distance between two points is:

[tex]d=\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-y_{1})^{2}}[/tex]

In the given figure ABCD:

Its perimeter = AB + BC + CD + DE + EA

→ Find the length of each side using the rule above

A = (-4, -2), B = (-1, 2), C = (2, 2), D = (5, -1), E = (2, -4)

→ Substitute them in the rule above to find the lengths of its sides

[tex]AB=\sqrt{(-1--4)^{2}+(2--2)^{2}}=\sqrt{(-1+4)^{2}+(2+2)^{2}}\\\\=\sqrt{(3)^{2}+(4)^{2}}=\sqrt{9+16}=\sqrt{25}[/tex]

AB = 5

[tex]BC=\sqrt{(2--1)^{2}+(2-2)^{2}}=\sqrt{(2+1)^{2}+(0)^{2}}\\\\=\sqrt{(3)^{2}+0}=\sqrt{9+0}=\sqrt{9}[/tex]

BC = 3

[tex]CD=\sqrt{(5-2)^{2}+(-1-2)^{2}}=\sqrt{(3)^{2}+(-3)^{2}}\\\\=\sqrt{9+9}=\sqrt{18}[/tex]

CD = [tex]\sqrt{18}[/tex]

[tex]DE=\sqrt{(2-5)^{2}+(-4--1)^{2}}=\sqrt{(-3)^{2}+(-4+1)^{2}}\\\\=\sqrt{(-3)^{2}+(-3)^{2}}=\sqrt{9+9}=\sqrt{18}[/tex]

DE = [tex]\sqrt{18}[/tex]

[tex]EA=\sqrt{(-4-2)^{2}+(-2--4)^{2}}=\sqrt{(-6)^{2}+(-2+4)^{2}}\\\\=\sqrt{(-6)^{2}+(2)^{2}}=\sqrt{36+4}=\sqrt{40}[/tex]

EA = [tex]\sqrt{40}[/tex]

→ Add them to find the perimeter of the figure ABCDE

∴ Its perimeter = 5 + 3 + [tex]\sqrt{18}[/tex] + [tex]\sqrt{18}[/tex] +[tex]\sqrt{40}[/tex] ≅ 22.8098

→ Round it to the whole number

Step-by-step explanation:

The given inequality is in vertex form:

  y = a(x -h)^2 +k . . . . . . has vertex (h, k)

so the vertex can be read from the given expression.

  y > (x +2)^2 -1   ⇒   (h, k) = (-2, -1) . . . the vertex

The leading coefficient (+1) is positive so the parabola opens upward.

__

The y > ( ) tells you the boundary line is dashed (is not part of the solution). It also tells you the shading is above the curve, hence inside the parabola.

joanna has 45 postcards in her postcard collection, which is 180% of the number of postcards Kyle has. How many postcards does Kyle have?

Answers

Answer:

Kyle has 25 postcards

Step-by-step explanation:

Joanna has 45 postcards in her collection, which is 180% of the number of postcards of Kyle.

If the number of postcards of Kyle is K, and the number of postcards of Joanna is J, then:

J=180% K

Recall a percentage can be expressed in decimal by dividing by 100:

J=180/100*K

To find the value of K, we solve the above equation:

K=100/180*J

Since J=45:

K=100/180*45=25

Kyle has 25 postcards

For instance, you might ask, How do changes in the teenage brain make teens more vulnerable to addictions such as alcohol? Then you could ask a follow-up question to gain more information: How would a history of drinking in a family affect a teenagers brain structure?Dont ask biased or leading questions that force the speaker to agree with you and answer in a way that suits you. Here is an example of a leading question: Dont you agree that parents should be responsible for helping their children have a positive body image? Instead, you could ask, What can parents do to help their children maintain a positive body image? Give three examples of how culture changed due to imperialism? (Please someone help me!) (No links!)
